Life
Cliff notes on life since Clover Hill... moved back to Fla. to show my horses after hs grad. 16 years old living in Palm Beach... a virgin! Got drunk w/n 2 days and spent 4 days in the hospital with alcohol poisoning! Came back to Va. and attended a few colleges.. UVA, Rollins, Clemson and then VCU where I majored in mass communications and minored in psych. Got engaged ( the 1st of 5 engagements)! And continued the "horse thing." Had the 110 acre place in Augusta, GA. and walked away! In fact, I walked away from all my engagements.
People always ask "what's wrong with you... you've never married?" And my answer is always the same... "I could be DIVORCED 5 times... then the question is valid."
Some may know my father played pro-baseball so naturally I got engaged to an Atlanta Brave ... great guy, didn't work out. ...Expand for more
But we are still friends.
Next, I met a guy on a business trip and after 2 years, I moved to Chicago (no job, no friends) and yep.. got engaged.
I worked for the Chicago Bulls and then was a "PA" for MJ and Ron Harper. Cool job!
Living 3 years of "un-reality"... never waiting in lines at clubs, comps in Vegas, courtside seats, spending sprees at NM, Nike,Nordstrom etc... I realized that life was not "the real life."
I've learned from the past, not from our high school, and have the intestinal fortitude to share the past 20 years. What about you?
In closing, yea, I'm successful. But most of all, I'm happy! I live in downtown Chicago, have a kick-butt job I deserve and I'm engaged! Life is good!
It's 10% of what happens to you and 90% how you react. You're in control.
